Starbucks announces the commercialization of expresso capsules

In a market dominated by machines with Nespresso and Tassimo capsules, the American giant  coffee announced Tuesday it would commercialize capsules designed exclusively for expresso machines Keurig Single Cup Brewing System, which are produced and sold by Green Mountain Coffee Roasters.

The range of capsules combine the flavors Breakfast Blend, Pike Place Roast, House Blend, French Roast and Sumatra as well as Tazo teas capsule, as Awake and Zen.

The K-Cup capsules will be sold in grocery stores, specialized shops and department stores starting of November in the United States , March 2012 in Canada in . They should also be available online from August 2012.
